zinc
We’d like to thank Neil at Mineralife Blog for this helpful post today.
While cold sores are in no way dangerous, they can be painful and bothersome. They are often a sign that your immune system is compromised. If you suffer from recurrent cold sores, the good news is that you can deal with them naturally.
Zinc is a powerful immune boosting mineral
Take zinc if you have cold sores as it will strengthen your white blood cells and stave off infections, including cold sores. Remember, that cold sores come about thanks to the herpes virus, and this can be avoided by looking after your immune system.
You can add vitamin B12, folic acid and iron to zinc to really blast the cold sores out of your system.
This is especially the case if the sores are recurrent. You will need about:
- 30 mg of zinc
- 2000 micrograms of vitamin B12
- 3-5 mg folic acid and
- 30-60 mg iron each day.
Zinc should be taken daily and not just to deal with cold sores or illness
If you wish to foil the attempts of herpes attacking your body, take 2000-3000 mg lysine each day between mealtimes. This amino acid throttles herpes. Lysine should be taken in conjunction with vitamin C in equal amounts.
It is becoming increasingly obvious that good nutrition is the key to enjoying good health. Apart from taking the right minerals and vitamins, it is essential to eat a balanced diet. Eat a broad spectrum of foods so that your body lacks nothing. Couple this with quality mineral and vitamin supplements and your are sure to enjoy good health throughout the year.
