Stress has a more profound effect on your life than you would imagine.
Stress is a massive contributor towards poor eating choices
Of course this comes with a multitude of sins in itself.
I find that when I am stressed, I want to eat all the wrong things. This leads to weight gain and a massive spiral of guilt and self-pity. When I am in this space, I literally balloon overnight and look like the Michelin Man all over again (sigh…).

Like most people, I am not disciplined enough to snack on carrots and celery sticks – nope.I want bread, sweets, pastries and all the other “feel good” foods available to me at that time. The problem is that the “feel good” sensation is short lived. I also notice that I end up eating mindlessly even though I am not necessarily hungry.
Apart from the effects of stress on your eating habits, it has severe impacts on your all-over health. (Read about home health checks you should do regularly)
When I find that I am stressed, I immediately have a look at my diet
I have noticed how my diet causes stress and how stress affects my diet. Therefore, keeping both under control is my best defense against getting stressed and getting fat.
Assessing my diet involves asking myself a few questions.
Am I having a healthy and nutritious breakfast? Skipping breakfast is a big no-no. Your blood sugar levels go out of whack, and you are guaranteed to eat a diet full of empty calories on that day.
I love my caffeine riddled coffee as much as the next guy, but coffee only serves to make me more rattled. Thankfully, I have cut back on my coffee intake drastically and have found ways to replace the coffee without craving the caffeine. It gives me the same, if not, better lift than coffee, without the negatives attached to coffee.
Riddled with green tea extract, Herbalife’s Thermojectic instant herbal beverage contains powerful antioxidants which keep the free radicals at bay and keep me healthier and energized for longer.
The best way to control unhealthy eating is to stock only healthy options in the home. Keep carrots and fruits in the fridge so that you can snack on these should the need arise. Less than five minutes after snacking on something unhealthy, you will have already forgotten what it tasted like, so you may as well snack on something healthy if you are hungry or stressed.

I also look for healthier options to deal with my stress than simply reaching for the fridge. I find that going for a jog is a great way for me to de-stress. Follow that by thirty minutes in a hot bath with my favorite James Patterson novel and I am good to go!
Lizette goes to bed with James Patterson (er – one of his books!) after popping a Herbalife Tang Kuei tablet which has natural sedative and pain relief properties. She says it keeps the stress at bay. I actually think she takes it to keep her from becoming mentally irregular, as Rocky would say.
