I have always had to keep an eye on my weight and have thankfully managed to stay healthy despite years of obesity. My blood lipid profile is normal as are my blood pressure, heart and blood glucose levels.

Being skinny does not preclude you from being leptin and insulin resistant. You should check your blood glucose and lipid levels regularly to ensure that you are free from diabetes and heart disease. You should also keep a tab on your blood pressure even though you are not overweight.
It is easier to achieve good health with the right diet than by exercising. I am not saying exercise is not good or necessary – I am saying that you need to eat a balanced diet if you want to live a long, healthy and pain free life.
Thin people are prone to nutrient deficiencies
If you eat too much sugar, processed foods and simple carbs, you are at risk of contracting gout, cancer and the above mentioned diseases.
The best way to avoid deficiencies is to eat balanced food. A balanced diet will prevent you from becoming mineral and vitamin deficient and will therefore help you to not crave poor food choices. The only reason that you crave the wrong types of food is that you are lacking in certain vitamins and minerals.
