over eating herbalifeAnyone who wants to lose weight understands that the formula is simple: reduce calorie intake by eating less and burning more calories by increasing physical exercise.  The key is discovering why you eat too much and what to do about it.

Speaking from experience, I can tell you that people overeat for two reasons:

1) nutritional deficiencies and

2) eating to soothe their moods.

Unless you master these two issues, you will find it incredibly difficult to lose weight.

In today’s busy lifestyle, it is difficult to get all the nutrition that your body needs. If you find yourself craving ice cream or milk shakes, your body needs calcium. The question begs, how many people opt for health calcium sources instead of ice cream?

While milk and cheese are sources of calcium, they are fattening so may not be the best choice for you. Green leafy vegetables such as spinach and kale are good sources of calcium. Sesame seeds, sardines and soy products are also good sources of this mineral.

This is just one example of making better food choices. When you crave sweets and chips, your body is craving carbohydrates. Instead of reaching for cookies and chips, look towards complex low G.I. options to satisfy these needs.

The challenge with eating too much of the wrong foods is that these foods are convenient

Too many people do not have time to prepare these foods. This is why Herbalife’s F1 meal replacement is a wise choice. It is convenient, quick and gives your body everything that it needs.

Then you will be well-placed to fight overeating for emotional reasons

While I have not really been too nutritionally compromised, emotional eating was a big problem for me in the past. I never understood the difference between appreciating good food and obsessing about food and using food as a crutch.

Years ago, I was trying to lose weight on a well-known and reputable eating plan. My mom would make all the right meals for me at home and to take to work. Despite the food being more than enough for me, I still sought solace in food at tea time and even after eating a healthy meal of cold meats and salads at lunch.  At tea time, I would sneak to the take away down the road and buy 2 chicken and ham pies. After lunch it would be viennas and fries. This was unnecessary and just piled the weight on.

This caused me to spiral into a terrible guilt cycle and caused me to eat more (emotional eating)

This continued for years until I started with the Herbalife weight management program. Initially, I still succumbed to the emotional eating, but as the nutrition in Herbalife started working on my body, I discovered that I could not eat all the extra food. It actually grossed me out. Herbalife had made me feel so satiated that I could not handle eating the junk food. My self-esteem and confidence improved as the weight melted off of me.

I hope that my story has shed some light as to why you might not be able to stop eating when you should. There are a number of ways to deal with emotional eating. You can start exercising or a new hobby to replace your bad eating habits. The thing is to do something different if you want different results.
