hungry weight lossI don’t believe that there is a person on the planet who enjoys his food more than I do. I simply salivate at the thought of food especially when my wife is cooking.

The problem with this is it lends itself to overindulgence and that comes with a whole set of undesirable problems. If you are in the same situation as me, read on as you will learn how to avoid having seconds and putting on unwanted weight.

If you have a weight problem, you will certainly have to be mindful of how many calories you consume at each mealtime (Learn how to easily budget your calories at breakfast time here) Keeping to one serving at mealtimes will help you to achieve this objective.

Preparing your own food gives you total control as to how many calories you will consume during the meal. When preparing food, make just enough for the meal, or make enough to provide food for more meals. This will help you to not snack at the extra food once you have finished your meal.

Select foods that are filling and healthy. Food riddled with simple carbs will only serve to make you hungry within an hour or so after eating. Protein is filling as are complex carbs such as brown rice, pasta and veggies and fruits. This will keep the temptation to eat between meals to a minimum.

Water, water and more water. Your body will often fool you into thinking that you are hungry when in fact you are actually thirsty. Drinking water will help you to feel full and it contains zero calories! A great way to feel satiated without piling on the calories or the guilt. Keeping yourself well hydrated will help your body to digest the food more effectively.  (Don’t like water? Click here )

Eat slowly. I learned this from my Weight Watcher’s days from way back and when. I had to weigh and measure each morsel that I ate and had to learn to make each morsel last. I still eat incredibly slowly and enjoy every bit of my food. My wife and children get irritated as their food is long gone and I am still eating and enjoying my food. I have always considered eating food to be an art form.

I also know that Herbalife gives me all the nutrition that I need and will keep me from wanting to eat foods with empty calories.

By implementing the above strategies I am able to control the urge to guts myself at mealtimes. I know that tomorrow I will have access to incredible food and that is enough to keep me disciplined when I sit down to eat a meal.

I would love to hear how you cope with avoiding seconds at mealtimes.
