Most people hate dieting as it deprives them of eating their favorite foods from their favorite restaurants. This is probably why many of them do not stick it out and fail to achieve their desired results.
(It is also why so many people (including celebrities) have opted for Herbalife as their favorite weight management program. Herbalife does not involve weighing food or counting calories. The beauty about Herbalife is its simplicity. If you want to lose weight, all you need to do is replace 2 meals a day and eat one healthy portion for your third meal.)
How to Lose Weight While You Eat Out!
Eating out without the guilt is easy if you are smart about it. If you go to Mac Donalds for example, understand that the burger comprises of 80% soy and only 20% beef. The other challenge with these burgers is that they contain too much sodium. You would be better off eating out at a good fish restaurant or steakhouse. In this way you can avoid consuming unnecessary calories by asking for grilled chicken, fish or steak.
Be assertive when you eat out
Don’t be shy to make your needs clear – a waiter looking for a nice time will be happy to oblige.
- If the item is fried, do not be scared to ask for it to be grilled.
- Replace French Fries with a side order of fresh green salad.
- You might even want to have a smaller portion of meat and a larger salad.
As a consumer, you have the right to be served the food that you want to eat.
Preparation is key in restaurant food
Inquire about how your food is prepared. Don’t fall for the cholesterol-free sales pitch as this does not mean that the food is necessary fat free. It could have been cooked in a calorie rich oil.
Another ploy restaurants use is low carb, the fact is that low carb food can be high in calories. Did you know that a seafood meal can still contain over 40 g of fat and in excess of 700 calories? Opting for a vegetable platter will give you only 16 grams of fat and under 300 calories per serving.
Cut portions, costs and calories when you eat out
Not only is sharing an entrée with your partner romantic,it saves calories and money too. You could share the main course as well. You will find that you are more than satiated after the your meal and the experience will help you and your partner to bond.
Beware of high calorie beverages when you eat out
Watch what you order when it comes to drinks.S odas and alcohol are extremely fattening and have no nutritional value either. If you really must have alcohol, ask for a glass of dry wine or a vodka and tonic and restrict this to one drink for the entire meal. Alcohol slows down the metabolism.
Other alternatives include water which you can mix with Herbalife’s Mango Aloe concentrate. Not only is this refreshing and delicious, it will help you to digest your meal more efficiently. If you sip on water with aloe throughout the meal, your brain will get the message that your tummy is full and you will naturally eat less.
Filling the sweet spot when you eat out
Finally, save money by skipping the dessert at the restaurant. Desserts are incredibly expensive and depending on what you order, could contain your daily calorie allowance in one teeny tiny serving. I know it is nice to have something sweet after a nice meal, but rather opt for one of the following options when you arrive at your home.
- Fresh, homemade fruit salad
- 2 tsp Formula 1 (any flavor) in plain yogurt or soy milk / coconut milk / almond milk
