People lost more weight on these two regimes, and their insulin levels were better than the people who followed the Mediterranean diet. The reason for this is that they had more balance. It’s safe to assume that they maintained their weight loss for much longer.
- The subjects who were on the carbohydrate restrictive diet, reduced their insulin levels by more than 20%.
- The group which was on the high-protein diet, reduced its insulin levels by 14%.
- The last group only managed to reduce their insulin by 4%.
While this news is certainly interesting and helpful, further investigation as to why this is the case needs to be done.
